Cotin™ Tin Catalyst Series
The Cotin™ Catalyst Series provides variable cure rates for urethane and silicone reactions in foam and elastomeric applications.
They can be used in primary reactions such as the polyol-isocyanate and water-isocyanate reactions, as well as the secondary types such as allophanate and biuret formation.
Applications
Excellent general purpose catalyst for any polyol-isocyanate reactions.
Applications include room temperature & moderate to rapid catalysis for RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanization) Silicones.
Cotin Tin Catalyst Series catalyzed RTV silicones begin to cure immediately upon being exposure to air. They work effectively as a sealants that are water-resistant, adhesive, and hold their shape. They are most commonly used in wet environments such as building, bathroom, and kitchen sealants.
The Cotin Catalyst Series applications include room temperature & moderate to rapid catalysis for elastomers. RTV Silicone Gasket is a single component vulcanizing elastomeric gasket for mechanical parts providing tough & flexible seal.
Benefits
- Variable Cure Rates; Slow, Fast, Room Temperature
- Ability to Dial in Reaction Rates
- Highly Efficient Catalyst

Values shown in the above table are typical properties.
Cotin 200 Tin Catalyst is a liquid organotin catalyst recommended for the manufacture of silicone and polyurethane systems. This series is a “moderate” urethane catalyst, not yielding rapid or slow cures. It can be used in primary reactions such as the polyol-isocyanate and water-isocyanate reactions, as well as the secondary types such as allophanate and biuret formation.
Cotin 227 Tin Catalyst is a liquid organotin catalyst recommended for use in room temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone systems and polyurethane foams and elastomers. This grade of Cotin Catalyst is a “moderate to rapid” catalyst for relatively fast cures. It can be used in primary reactions such as the polyol-isocyanate and water-isocyanate reactions as well as the secondary types such as allophanate and biuret formulation.
Cotin 280 Tin Catalyst is a liquid organotin carboxylate catalyst recommended for use in room temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone systems and polyurethane foams and elastomers. It is considered a “moderate to rapid” catalyst, for relatively faster cure.
Cotin 430 Tin Catalyst is a liquid organotin catalyst recommended for the manufacture of silicone and polyurethane systems. It offers less moisture sensitivity in comparison to conventional organotin catalysts. It is considered a “slow” catalyst and is used in silicone reactions and urethane formulations where slow catalysis is required.
