DBF (Di-n-butylfumarate) for Adhesives
DBF (Di-n-butylfumarate) is an intermediate chemical used mainly in wood-based applications, including adhesives and coatings for this renewable material.
Applications
Wood Adhesives and Coatings
Most commonly, DBF is used in manufacturing waterproof wood glue, where it minimizes the discoloration that can occur when bonding high-resin lumber woods, but it is also a key component in other wood coating applications. By increasing the durability of wood products and thereby reducing the need for natural resource consumption, DBF has an important sustainability function. It helps customers meet the growing consumer demand for renewable materials.
Performance Coatings
DBF is also used to produce co-polymers for non-wood coating, adhesive, and surface conditioning applications. Often acting as an internal plasticizer, it can help enhance the viscosity of performance coatings, giving it a key advantage over DBM in rigid applications.
Features
- Superior quality
- Low water content
- Low isomerized content
- Backward integration with major precursor
- Ease of handling due to liquid form
