4,4′-Dichlorodiphenyl Sulfone (DCDPS)

4,4′-Dichlorodiphenyl Sulfone (DCDPS), is a monomer used for polymerization into the production of polysulfones (PES). High performance sulfones are categorized by high transparency and high temperature performance. Sulfones are used as replacements for metals and glass in a wide range of medical, automotive, aerospace, and consumer products.

DCDPS is the monomer needed to produce bio-compatible polysulfone membranes and its derivatives. Today polysulfone polymers are the leading technology in the use of dialyzer membranes and other membrane filtrations because of the economic capability of adsorbing a vast range of different toxins from the blood of dialysis patients due to its optimized pore sizes for small, medium, and large molecular weight molecules with most favorable clinical outcomes for the patients.
