Applications
Food Colorant
Food colorants, or color additives, are used in food for a variety of reasons. The primary reason to use a food colorant is to make food more aesthetically appealing. Colorants can enhance natural colors, provide color to colorless food, correct color variations, and offset color loss from environmental exposures. Dimethylacetyl Succinate (DMAS) is a key ingredient in the production of Yellow No. 5.
