Superior Color Protection
Reilline™ Polymers, Poly-4-vinylpyridine N-oxide (PVNO), are used as dye transfer inhibitors in laundry and fabric care formulations.
Reilline Polymer’s performance is due to its unique molecular structure:
- An pyridine ring whose aromaticity offers stability and “aromatic to aromatic” interaction with dyes
- A positive charge attracting anionic dyes
- A oxide offering additional hydrogen bonding
The improved performance is measurable resulting in maintaining original colors & whiteness.
Where color maintenance is a concern, use Reilline Polymers, as your dye transfer inhibitor. Textile fading can occur by the deposition of fugitive dyes during the wash cycle. Reilline Polymers added to detergent formulations aid in the prevention of fabric discoloration.
Reilline Polymers are highly effective in preventing the transfer of dyes from solution to receptor swatches under a variety of experimental conditions. Compared to alternative DTIs, they have shown superior effectiveness across a broad array of dyes and surfactants, as well as a wide pH range. Typical use levels are 0.05-0.1%.
