ZeMac™ E400 Copolymer
ZeMac™ E400 Copolymer is an alternating copolymer of ethylene and maleic anhydride with very high molecular weight; Mw of 300,000. The product is 100% water soluble and can be reacted with alkalis, alcohols and amines to form corresponding salts, esters and amides.
ZeMac™ Copolymers act as emulsion stabilizer and control mean particle size (MPS) & particle size distribution (PSD) and controlling release of active in liquid detergents, softeners, PCMs and other encapsulants in microcapsules.
ZeMac™ is used in various microencapsulation applications with wall forming systems such as melamine formaldehyde, polyurea, polyurethane, etc. ZeMac™ provides emulsion stability while simultaneously controlling particle size distribution. This results either in controlled release of the active (fragrance), or cross-linking to prevent release of the active (phase change materials).
